Designing a specific competency model for the senior managers of medical sciences universities

Background and aims: Managers play a vital decisive role at the heart of organizations because they are considered most important competitive advantage. Therefore, aim this study was to design model for specific competence top managers medical science universities in Iran. Methods: This applied, exploratory research done using qualitative-inductive approach Strauss Corbin basic theory method sciences Iran from 2019 2022. The population grounded theory-based qualitative consisted 17 individuals selected among chancellors vice-chancellors purposive sampling. Results: findings indicated 19 general categories model, including causal conditions (targeted organization, organizational indicators, factors, individual factors), central phenomenon (specific senior managers). other were underlying (organizational characteristics, environmental field, external macro components economic competence), intervening (personality traits, managerial intelligence, management changes time). remaining encompassed strategies (competence education talent management, standardization, factors) consequences national development field health, medicine welfare, society, service management). Conclusion: competencies managers, as key human resource, extremely success organization. demonstrated that can be used an indicator.
